In celebration of International Day of Forests (IDOF) 21 March 2020, we are asking our Instagram followers to tell us why they #LoveSAForestry.

Is it the natural spaces found within forestry’s patchwork landscape? The freedom found whilst running, hiking or mountain biking on forestry land? The opportunity to work in an industry which produces everyday essentials and products of the future? Or simply the feeling you get when you enter a plantation?

Followers can do this by recording a short clip (10 to 30 seconds) of themselves on their phone and posting it on Instagram – remembering to use the #LoveSAForestry and tag @forestry_explained.

In celebration of IDOF, we will be creating three short video montages from twelve of the clips submitted. These will be published in conjunction with International Day of Forests to showcase the many different reasons why we all should love forestry in South Africa.

The twelve selected clips will each receive a R250 Cape Union Mart eVoucher.
